Go to the Mountain
Jesus would sometimes seek out a deserted place in order to pray or catch his breath. I understand why people followed him, even up on a mountain. And they remained there for days experiencing healing, hearing truth and sharing bread. Jesus still does that. No one who seeks him on the mountain is turned away. Just as I sought closeness to my mother, I would have traversed a mountain to find Jesus.
We Are Flailing
Today, we consume an inordinate amount of information without time to process any of it: truth (facts) and a constant stream of misinformation and outright lies. It’s difficult to know what is important, true and meaningful. Yet, Paul believes that we can know the truth. It begins with the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus did not preach an ideology, but the words of life that transcended all the cultural and political realities of his day.
The Grace That Overflows
Gigi lived her life with joyful hope. It was a hope that comes to mind with the season of Advent. Like Gigi, we can approach the incarnation of God in Christ with joyful expectation. For Christ brings a grace that overflows and fills us to the brim, expanding our hearts.
