A Peace That Walks

The magnetism of the monks draws us out to walk. As they walk toward D.C., by their example they encourage metanoia, a change of direction in those who lead our nation. They invite us to wake from our stupor, to stop allowing fear to paralyze us. Together, in the beloved community they are creating along the road, we see there is power in numbers and nonviolent action.

Making Room (revised 12/10/24)

The seasons of Advent and Christmas create a space in our lives for wonder and mystery that leads to anticipation and joy. They do this in light of the Gospels that describe both the Incarnation of God in Jesus and Mary’s willingness to bear the Son of God. How comfortable or welcoming we are to this mystery and wonder depends on our willingness to ponder the unknown.
